Lands End

Have you ever thought of travelling the length of the UK? How about doing it on two wheels? Don’t want the hassle of having to organise where to stay and where to eat? Here’s your chance…

More Adventure Ltd. is an exciting company offering adventure holidays and challenges throughout the UK. The Lands End to John O’Groats Cycle Trip is an epic fifteen-day journey through some of the most beautiful landscapes in England, Wales and Scotland. More Adventure provides the logistics and support for the whole trip allowing you to simply enjoy yourself and absorb the wonderful places we visit along the way. Unlike many other companies, we do not require sponsorship or fundraising. If you have a busy life yet still want a true adventure, this is the trip for you.

Land’s End to John o’ Groats is the challenge of traversing the whole length of Great Britain between it’s two most distant points. The distance by road is 874 miles (1,407 km) and takes most cyclists ten to fourteen days.

Land's End

We meet in Penzance. After a full briefing and equipment check we’ll have a group dinner in a local restaurant. This is your chance to get to know the rest of the group and share your hopes, fears and aspirations before we set off the following day. Over the next fifteen days we will cycle 950 miles through glorious scenery, visiting quaint market towns and sampling local cuisines. The trip ends at John O’Groats, the northernmost point of the UK. After a well-earned pub dinner and restful night’s sleep, we then transfer you back to Glasgow or Manchester to continue your journey home.

How fit do I need to be?

This trip is suitable for most active people but you can dramatically increase your chances of success (and enjoyment!) by thoroughly preparing for it. It is important that you experience what spending eight to nine hours on a bicycle feels like prior to the event. A more detailed training plan can also be provided upon request.

What happens if I cannot complete a leg and need a lift?

It is possible to be picked up at any stage along the route and taken to the next stopover. The following day you can then choose where you would like to rejoin the rest of the group.

What if the weather is poor?

Whilst we will be praying for sunshine, this is Great Britain so bad weather can be a reality at any time of the year. Upon signing up to the trip, a comprehensive equipment list is issued as part of the joining instructions. It gives excellent advice on how to be as comfortable as possible should the weather deteriorate. In all but the most severe weather, the trip will continue.

What if I don’t have my own bike?

We recommend you use your own bike but if you would prefer to rent one, it will cost £160 for the duration of the trip.
