TADA!!! Here is our recent interview with Justin Chon! Thanks to Justin for taking time out of his very busy schedule to answer our questions and many, many thanks to the amazing Anthony (aka Justin’s publicist) for setting everything up and putting up with me! You guys seriously rock!

You have a movie coming out in February, “Crossing Over”. Tell us a little about your character, Yong Kim, and what his role is in the movie?
The movie is about immigration. My character’s name in the movie is Yong Kim. He’s this kid that immigrates here to Los Angeles and is having a really hard time adjusting to life in the us. To fit in he starts to hang with the wrong crowd and starts to make bad decisions.
The atmosphere on set must have been completely different from the set of Twilight. Was it hard to transition yourself from Erik to Yong? How did you prepare yourself for this role?
I actually shot “Crossing Over” before I had shot “Twilight”. Yes, the atmosphere was completely different on the respective sets. The the transition was not hard at all. I just took different types of preperation for each role because both characters are totally different.
What was it like working with such big actors like Harrison Ford, Ashley Judd, and Ray Liotta? Were you intimidated by them at all?
There are many different story lines in the movie so I do not come into contact with most of the other actors. My story line did intersect with Cliff Curtis who is best known as the father in “Whale Rider”. He was a pleasure to work with.
Were there any particularly scenes that were difficult to shoot? With a movie of such high intensity with a strong cultural message, I’d imagine there were aspects that were hard for some of the cast to work through?
There were many scenes that were hard to work through. I shot a lot of scenes and I don’t know how much of my part has actually made it into the movie. I would say almost all of my scenes were very challenging. It is a very heavy and dramatic film.
